Coming off a rather disappointing 2013 season, the Minnesota Vikings have finally (at least for the moment) decided on a starting QB. Matt Cassel takes the reins from Christian Ponder (finally), narrowly beating out rookie Teddy Bridgewater who also impressed during preseason play. Cassel is set to lead the Vikings to a better record in 2014. The Vikes went 4-0 in the preseason and that was without ALL-DAY Adrian Peterson taking a single snap. New RB Joe Banyard led the Vikes in rushing yards and averaged 5.9 yards per carry. Add Peterson to the mix and the Vikings are looking very strong offensively. New Offensive Coordinator Norv Turner is expected to be aggressive on offense utilizing both ground and air attacks to keep opponent's defenses guessing. New coach Mike Zimmer replaces Leslie Frazier and brings his experience as defensive coordinator of the Cowboys and Falcons to TCF Bank Stadium (home of the Golden Gophers). Though analysts have been critical of the Vikings pre-season rankings and expectations, true Vikings fans are optimistic for a big season and playoff potential. Skol Vikings!!!
